O concerto de apresentação de "Odd Size Baggage", o novo disco de Micro Audio Waves, está marcado para dia 9 de Maio no Lux, em Lisboa. No Porto, acontece dia 17 de Maio no cinema Passos Manuel. O primeiro single, "down by flow", já roda nas principais rádios portuguesas e promete ser um dos temas mais marcantes de 2007. Neste trabalho dos Micro Audio Waves participam como músicos convidados, Francisco Rebelo (Cool Hipnoise, Spaceboys) no baixo, e Samuel Palitos (Flux, Wordsong, Rádio Macau) na bateria . Os Micro Audio Waves viram também confirmada esta semana a sua presença no festival Super Bock-Super Rock, onde actuam no dia 5 de Julho ao lado dos Scisor Sisters, Underworld, Interpol, Tv on the Radio, The Gossip, X -Wife e Anselmo Ralph.

Micro Audio Waves (originally a duo) came on the scene in 2000, and began by developing compositions of a minimal and experimental orientation, the result of which can be heard in their first album (Micro Audio Waves), launched in 2002. With the addition of Claudia Efe (vocals), the project takes on new outlines. The more purist electronica gives way to more structurally classical electro-acoustic compositions, without betraying the experimental component. "No waves", released in 2004, was considered as one of the most exciting albums of the year by John Peel at BBC Radio One, and it won the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards in Paris (best album & best videoclip). With their participation in various international festivals (Lisbon, London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Groningen, Prague, Bratislava...), Micro Audio Waves have become a permanent fixture in the avant-garde music landscape.

You receive a fancy letter in the mail. An invitation to a cocktail party. A few days later you find yourself poolside with a colorful, yet not too colorful, drink in your hand. A bit too drunk, involved in a conversation a bit too deep about the new David Lynch movie; a documentary about the dark December days around a concert in Berlin, featuring a super group made up by Vangelis, Roy Orbison, Kate Bush and Jim O’Rourke..

Logh’s fourth record sounds somewhat like that. If you want it to.

Since the members of Logh are so bullheaded and always have to do everything the other way around and since their last record was recorded in just one day, they decided for the recording of their new album to remain in the studio for way too long. Someone called it the longest indie recording in world history. While this may be a slight exaggeration, the recording really did take a long, long time.

There wasn’t really supposed to be a new Logh record within a foreseeable future but then, in January 2006, the band headed out on their umpteenth European tour. A tour which proved to be so much fun and so successful that a spark was lit. That spark was enough to keep the band writing and recording non-stop until the album was done, 10 months later.

After a few months in the studio the file sizes of the Pro Tools sessions had reached dizzying heights as the band continued on their quest of finding something that no one quite knew what it looked like. When the time had finally come for Pelle Gunnerfeldt to mix the record, he probably laughed, or cried, quietly to himself when he opened the files and witnessed the mess. However, with the help of the iconic image of Mark Knopfler projected in 3D above the mixing console Pelle somehow managed to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

What you are going to discover within this record probably depends a bit on what you bring to it. But similar to the tale of Snake Plissken in “Escape from New York”, this album also tells the story of someone trying to get out and away from a dark, threatening and chaotic existence. Although possibly wearing a slightly wider, self-ironic smile. And definitely with a much cooler drink in hand.

LOGH was formed in 1998 by Mattias Friberg, Mathias Oldén and Jens Hellgren and have later been joined by Marco Hildén, Karl Arvidson and Mattias Jeppson.

LOGH have previously released three records Every Time a Bell Rings, an Angel Gets His Wings (2002) The Raging Sun (2003) A Sunset Panorama (2005), all on Bad Taste Records

Their previous albums have been licensed to various labels in the US, the UK and Japan and they have been distributed all over the world

LOGH have played about 300 shows in a total of 18 countries around Europe

After the new album, “North”, is released at the end of March, Logh will spend the rest of the year on tour.

Se esta é a primeira vez que se cruzam com a Noite CD-R, saibam que esta é um espaço de mostra para produtores não editados, provocando a passagem destes do "quarto" para a pista de dança. Testam-se os volumes dos sons envolvidos, observa-se a reacção das pessoas presentes e estabelecem-se contactos entre aqueles que encontram afinidades musicais. Do techno ao electro, do hip-hop ao drum n'Bass, todos os estilos são aceites. As faixas submetidas serão tocadas no sistema de som do bar, sendo acompanhadas pela projecção video do seu título e autor.A entrega de produções faz-se até às 24h00.

A Noite CD-R ocorre na primeira quarta-feira do mês em Lisboa no bar Lounge, e na segunda quarta-feira do mês no bar Passos Manuel no Porto.

Desde Janeiro a Noite CD-R terá no início da Noite um Live-act.O Live set deverá ser constituído apenas por produções ou remisturas vossas, independentemente do vosso estilo musical, e deve rondar os 45 minutos. A actuação decorrerá entre as 23.15 – 00.00 (mais minuto menos minuto), aproveitando a presença atenta de todos os produtores participantes na Noite CD-R propriamente dita. Se estão a preparar um Live set e precisam de o testar, a Noite CD-R cede-vos os comandos da mesa de mistura.Como ninguém trabalha de borla, há uma oferta da Noite CD-R ao interveniente de cada mês.Os Interessados em invadir o início da Noite CD-R deverão responder para este mail.
